HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing course
Course Content
Established under the Rail Safety National Law Act (2012), the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) oversees the safety of all workers on the Australian railways by way of scheduled and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
In addition to ONRSR’s testing program, rail transport operators are required to have a Drug and Alcohol Management Program (DAMP) in place which includes alcohol and drug testing of their workers using an Authorised Person to perform the testing.
In this course, Safework Health educates participants about the rail safety standards set by ONRSR and will provide learners with the knowledge and qualification to become an Authorised Person. Testing requirements in accordance with Rail Legislation are very strict and carry serious penalties if the testing is not conducted in compliance with expectations outlined for all Authorised Persons.
